Gia Pham Hostel
After a long walk from our bus drop off point (it’s always longer when you have a backpack), we arrived at Gia Pham Hostel (map). Check in was straightforward though we were not given any information as the guy checking us in didn’t speak any English.
After our amazing hotel in Nha Trang, anywhere was going to be a downgrade. However, compared to other hostels we had stayed in at this price, this place was one of the better ones. Memories of our amazing sea view in Nha Trang were not far from our thoughts.

Still, the room was bright and airy and the WiFi and shower were both working fine.

The hostel is situated in quite a busy area frequented by mainly locals. There are many shops and restaurants, though if you want a proper bar you will have to walk in to the centre. Grab is in the area but they don’t seem to be available after midnight. I found this out after a night out meaning I had to walk home, along the river, in darkness.
The main guy on reception was very helpful and quite a funny guy too. He was very sarcastic which is not something you normally come across in South East Asia. We got on well and I think he was sad to see me leave. 🙂
