Budget Travel in Croatia

In recent years, Croatia has become the fastest-rising holiday destination in Europe. Despite this, it still maintains the charm of an undiscovered gem. Travel in Croatia for the unspoiled Mediterranean islands, relaxation in the clear waters of the Adriatic sea, incredible national parks, some of the world’s greatest street art, medieval old towns and Game of Thrones location tours.

I visited Croatia during my travels in Europe, taking the train from the Hungarian town of Pecs to the country’s capital city Zagreb. Zagreb is a fantastic city with incredible street art, terrace bars and restaurants and a stunning old town. From here, I made my way to the Adriatic coast via the incredible Plitvice Lakes. As I visited outside the main tourist season, I almost had the whole park to myself. The park was covered with snow which made it even more magical.

I reached the Adriatic coast in the town of Zadar and from there I made my way south, spending time in the popular cities of Split and Dubrovnik.

Croatia is a beautiful country and I loved my adventure here. There are hostels in most major cities meaning it doesn’t have to be an expensive adventure.
