Hostel Mitte

I chose to spend my time in Brno at ‘Hostel Mitte’ (map). This hostel had received so many recommendations from other blogs, it was an easy choice.

On arrival, I checked in at the reception which is also a coffee shop. All the relevant information was given to me then I was told the rooms were actually a few doors up the street. I wasn’t expecting that but it was no problem.

My room was on the second floor. I had requested a bottom bunk and my request was granted. Each bed has a light and one socket, though there are other sockets available in the room. The bed was comfy and each bunk had a privacy curtain. As there was nobody using the top bunk during my stay, it felt like I had a room to myself.

Each room has its own bathroom and, as the room was not full during my stay, there was never any waiting around. The showers were nice and hot.

The WiFi was excellent which is always important to a traveller. I also took advantage of the laundry service. It cost 200 CZK (or 8 euros) but there didn’t appear to be a weight limit. The clothes were ready later that day and were clean and fresh. I even got an email telling me they were ready to be picked up.

Overall. I had a great stay in Hostel Mitte. It wasn’t the most social hostel as there is no common room (there is a small kitchen with cooking facilities) but it ticked every other box. Make sure you visit the cafe too. They sell great coffee.
