Nice Hue Hotel

We stayed at a hotel called ‘Nice Hue Hotel‘ (map). An email notified us in advance that we had a free upgrade on our room. We arrived early and our rooms were not quite ready, but the owner of the hotel took this opportunity to welcome us and to show us the Hue attractions on a map and the best things to do in Hue. He also gave us some good tips on the best restaurants in Hue. He was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. In fact, all the staff were friendly and always greeted us with a warm smile.

The room was excellent. It had two comfortable double-beds, the WiFi was strong, the bathroom was excellent and we even had a balcony overlooking the busy street below. The room had a mini-bar and was cleaned everyday (on request).

The only slight negative about this hotel is it is a little out of the centre (about 15 minutes walk) and the streets are dark at night. This is where I was approached by many bikers offering me drugs and ‘ladies’. They will usually take a strong ‘no, thank you’ but on occasion, they can be quite pushy. It started to get annoying after a while.

I would recommend ‘Nice Hotel’ if you are adding Hue to your Vietnam itinerary. It is excellent value and feels more luxurious than other hostels in this price range.
