We stayed at ‘Pan’s Place’ which was in view of the van drop-off point. On arrival, the guy on reception was very helpful and gave us lots of information about what things to do in Vang Vieng. The hostel has many facilities: a TV room with hundreds of dvds to choose from, a chill-out area in the back, laundry service, a restaurant and even a pool.

Our room was fine without being fancy. The WiFi was better than it was in Vientiane (though still not great) and we had a good, hot shower. There was no problem with mosquitoes and no need for a net. It did get a bit noisy sometimes; either from late night revellers or the staff in the morning. We used the laundry service and found it to be a good service. We also booked our minivan to leave Vang Vieng through the hostel and it was a nice, comfortable van!

The hostel is located near the airstrip that runs at the back of the central part of town so is within walking distance of all the bars and restaurants.

I would definitely recommend this hostel. We had a great time there and found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
